Doris Jean Nicks Hemken, 85, Rush Center, Kansas, died Monday, November 16, 2020, at Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas.
Doris was born June 23, 1935, in Hector, Arkansas, the daughter of Howard and Laverta (Coffman) Williams. She was a resident of Rush County, Kansas, for 33 years, moving from Colorado. She was an electronics technician for Hewlett-Packard before her retirement.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Walnut Valley Senor Center, and Lions Club, all of Rush Center, Kansas.
On December 10, 1952, she married Don Nicks at Raton, New Mexico. He preceded her in death August 13, 1998. On February 23, 2008, she married Norman Hemken at Hope Lutheran Church, Rush Center, Kansas. He preceded her in death December 6, 2012.
Survivors include: four sons, Robert Dean Nicks (Cheryl), Nickerson, Kansas, Philip Lang Nicks (Mary), Rush Center, Kansas, Charles Lee Nicks (Gail), Johnstown, Colorado, and Kevin Arthur Nicks (Patty), Whitewater, Wisconsin; two daughters, Nancy Diane Werner (Mike), Loveland, Colorado, and Jo Ann Dobson (Shaun), Rockville, Indiana; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; and one brother, Geoffrey Williams.
Because of the current challenges the world is facing at the present time, this is a private, immediate family only, graveside service and interment, with no visitation.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family requests memorials to Locust Grove Village, La Crosse, Kansas.
