🏃‍♂️ FHSU nabs Six All-Region honors

NEW ORLEANS - The Fort Hays State men's and women's track and field teams earned six USTFCCCA Outdoor All-Region honors, announced Friday by the coaches association. The Tiger women had four honorees, while two from the men's squad earned the distinction.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earn All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top three relay teams.

All-Region award winners from the women's team include Annabeth Baalmann in the pole vault, Rhyann Brown in the javelin, Taylor Savolt in the 400 meter hurdles and Jaycee Vath in the 5,000m run, while the men were represented by Grant Bradley in the 3,000m steeplechase and Jacob Clark in the pole vault.

Bradley picked up All-Region status for a third time this season and a fifth time in his career thanks to a season-best time of 8:53.61 in the 3,000m steeplechase, the fastest time by a Tiger during the DII era by more than 16 seconds. It is his second All-Region honor in the steeplechase, also earning the distinction in 2021.Clark grabbed his fourth All-Region honor and second of the season thanks to a season-best clearance of 17-3.5 in the pole vault. This is the second time Clark has earned All-Region honors outdoors.

Brown received All-Region honors in the javelin for a third time in her career, also picking up the award as a freshman in 2021 and as a junior in 2023. She ranks sixth in all DII this season with a top heave of 158-2.Savolt collected her second career All-Region award, picking up the honor in the 400m hurdles for a second-consecutive season. She posted a season-best time of 59.59 in the event earlier this season at KU.

Vath earned All-Region accolades for a second time this season after also receiving the award at the Central Region Cross Country Championships, finishing 13th. She picked up the honor in the 5,000m run with a season-best time of 16:52.41 in April in California.

Baalmann is a first-time recipient of the All-Region honor. She set the school record with a top clearance of 13-0.25 this season.
