🤼 Hays High wrestling 10-0 at duals in Topeka

TOPEKA - Hays High enjoyed a successful wrestling trip to Topeka last Friday and Saturday. The Indians were back on the road less than 24 hours after winning both the girls and boys duals in Liberal.

The Hays girls won the Lady Viking Dual Tournament. 
 - Hays defeated Shawnee Mission Northwest 48-25
 - Hays defeated Lansing 69-0
 - Hays defeated Topeka Seaman 54-18
 - Hays defeated Lawrence High School 66-18
 - Hays defeated Pittsburg High School 41-25

Katie Gutierrez, Sarah Zimmerman and Lexi Burton each recorded three pins. Gutierrez finished her three opponents in a total of 1:44. Burton recorded the second fastest fall of the tournament at just 16 seconds. Tionna Napue had a 17 second fall and Gutierrez at 19 seconds.

Sarah Zimmerman is the state's topped ranked wrestler at 110 pounds. She pinned each of the three opponents she faced as did Lexi Burton at 135.

Tionna Napue recorded two pins in under a minute and one technical fall at 19-4.

Addison Otte, Katie Gutierrez and Ava Ruiz went 4-1 in their five matches.

The Hays High boys also went undefeated at 5-0 on Saturday.
 - Hays defeated Lawrence 54-15
 - Hays defeated Lawrence 54-15
 - Hays defeated Lansing 58-21
 - Hays defeated Pittsburg 42-32
 - Hays defeated Seaman 39-33

Tathan Lovewell recorded four falls on the day, second most in the tournament.

Grady Lind beat each of the three opponents he faced at 106, two of them by fall.

Elijah McCullough beat all four of his opponents at 113. 

Tacoma Augustine faced four opponents and went 3-1. Cyrus Vajnar finished 3-1. 

Harley Zimmerman is the #1 ranked wrestler at 132 and beat each of the four opponents he faced.

Holden Lind went 3-1 in four matches, Tathan Lovewell 4-1 as did Dalton Meyers.
