Overnight rain drops 0.43" in Hays; Ellis County in 'exceptional drought'

An overnight rain Thursday dropped an official 0.43 inches of rain in Hays according to the K-State Agricultural Research Center south of town.

So far in April, Hays has received 1.10 inches of moisture. The 153-year cumulative average is 2.11 inches.

For the year, Hays is at 3.05 inches. The cumulative average by the end of April is 4.57 inches.
