Phillipsburg resident Dawn Bogart passed away Tuesday, January 19th, 2021 at her home.  She was 53.

Dawn was born November 16, 1967 in New London, CT the daughter of Gerald G. and Laura Ann (Belgrade) Johnson.

Dawn spent many summers as a child with her grandparents, Kenneth and Winnie Johnson in Stockbridge, Michigan.   In 1992 Dawn and her children moved to Phillipsburg, KS from Florida to be closer to family.    Dawn worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide in the area as a traveling nurse.  She then went to work for Whites IGA in Phillipsburg for ten years before her health declined.

She was united in marriage to Rick Bogart on July 16, 1997 in Rocky Mountain National Park, CO.  He survives.

Family was the most important part of Dawn’s life.  She loved to spend time with her family and friends, but mostly her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed traveling to Rocky Mountains in Colorado with Rick.

Survivors include her father, Jerry Johnson of Traverse City, MI; son Brian Cooley of Central City, NE; daughter Tara Wu of Hays, KS; step-sons Jeremy Bogart of Sedalia, MO and Zach Bogart of Phillipsburg; Sister Corinna Johnson of La Crosse, WI; and 10 Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother Laura Ann and two grandchildren Laura Dawn and Trinity.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 in the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with Pastor LeRoy Herder officiating.  The services will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Mrs. Bogart will lie in state from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg, with family receiving friends for visitation Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
