HAYS - Hays played at home for the first time in 2020 taking on the Liberal Redskins. Three plays into the game the Indians had recovered a fumble and scored a touchdown on a 47 yard pass from Dylan Dreiling to Jordan Dale. The entire sequence took a total of fifty-four seconds.

Hays could not expand upon the lead until the second quarter when Dreiling took a hand off from Dale for a 16 yard score and a 14-0 lead. Liberal did cut the deficit in half with a three yard score two minutes later that was set up by a thirty yard run.

Leading 14-7 Hays punted the ball away but took it right back three plays later on a Dalton Dale interception. The turnover started the next Indian series at the 22 yard line and three plays later Jordan Dale scored from two yards out from the quarterback position and a 21-7 advantage into halftime.

Highlights

Hays gutted through some second half injuries scoring six points on a Dreiling three yard run in the third quarter and a 27-7 lead. That would be the end of the scoring Hays. Liberal had their best chance of the third quarter to score following an 82 yard punt return to the two yard line.
