⛳ Marquess, Brasser lead Tiger women at Midwest Classic

WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Fort Hays State Women's Golf competed at the Midwest Intercollegiate Tournament held on October 16-17 at the challenging Mules National Golf Club. The 5682-yard, par-70 layout posed a challenge for the competition, resulting in an average stroke count of 82.49 throughout the tournament.

The Tigers opened with a score of 338 in the first round, followed by a 336 on day two. The team concluded the 20-team tournament with a total stroke count of 674, securing 17th overall. Notably, the team managed to register four birdies and 63 pars over the two-day tournament.

Leading the charge for Fort Hays State were Morgan Brasser and Corbyn Marquess, both securing the 33rd spot in the 112-player field. Brasser played posted rounds of 82 and 76, while Marquess posted scores of 78 and 80. Brasser had 22 pars and a birdie to her credit, while Marquess had 17 pars and a pair of birdies.

Hayden York secured the 89th spot with 12 pars and a birdie finishing with rounds of 85 and 89. Shauna Lee finished 102nd overall with rounds of 93 and 91. Ella Neuhauser concluded her performance at 104th place with rounds of 100 and 93.

Central Missouri emerged as the victors in the team competition on their home course, finishing 22 strokes over par. Second place was secured by Minnesota State, who recorded a total of 41 strokes over par as a team. Hayley Jones of Central Missouri clinched the individual title, finishing just 1-over par for the tournament.

The Fort Hays State Women's Golf Team will be back in action next week, competing in the last tournament of the fall season, the Tulsa Cup.
