4-year-old injured after van strikes deer in NW Kan.

LOGAN COUNTY—A child was injured in an accident just before 8:30p.m. Sunday in Logan County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Julian A. Hernandez, 38, North Platte, was northbound on U.S. 83 twenty six miles south of Oakley. The vehicle struck a deer that came out of the east ditch. 

EMS transported a 4-year-old boy from North Platte to the Logan County Hospital. Hernandez and a second passenger were not injured. The boy was not properly restrained, according to the KHP.
