Kelsey Renay (Ammons) Hogan

Kelsey Renay (Ammons) Hogan, 40, of Russell, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the Hays Medical Center in Hays, Kansas.  Her battle with cancer is over.  Her forever home is built and she is with the Lord.

Kelsey was born August 25, 1981, in Wichita, Kansas.  She was the daughter of Rodney Lee and Jan Renee (Mettlen) Ammons.  She grew up in Russell and graduated from Russell High School.  She then attended Brown Mackie College in Salina and completed studies in Criminal Justice. 

Kelsey was working for Options in Hays as a Domestic Abuse Counselor and was an Assistance Director.  She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Russell.  Her spare time was spent with her children and family.

Kelsey’s surviving family include her three daughters, Ella Hogan, Harper Hogan and Tallulah Hogan; parents, Rod and Jan Ammons of Lucas, Kansas; brother, Tyler Ammons (Jodie) of Alma, Kansas; sisters, Jenna Dorris (Jed) of Eaton, Colorado and Lyndie Worley (Josh) of Osborne, Kansas.

Kelsey was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Celebration of Kelsey’s Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 7, 2022, at the Bible Baptist Church of Russell.  Burial and Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday at the Lucas Cemetery in Lucas, Kansas.  Visitation will be from 9:30 AM to Services, Monday at Bible Baptist Church. 

A Memorial has been established with Bible Baptist Church.  Contributions and condolences may be sent to Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary, who is in charge of these arrangements.
