⚽ FHSU men's soccer announces seven signees

HAYS, Kan. - Fort Hays State men's soccer head coach Gerry Cleary has announced the signing of seven student-athletes for the 2022 season. All seven will be freshmen for the Tigers in the fall.

Francisco Azzaro
Francisco Azzaro

Francisco Azzaro | Defender | Buenos Aires, Argentina
Francisco Azzaro was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and grew up in Paraguay. Fran is versatile defender with the ability to play in multiple spots on the back line.

Azzaro brings experience playing for several clubs, including Sol de America and Club Recoleta. He was recognized as athlete of the year in both 2018 and 2019 at his school and helped his program to an ASA tournament championship in 2018. His squad won a school-record eight tournament wins that year.  

Harrison Bensouda
Harrison Bensouda

Harrison Bensouda | Midfielder | Shawnee, Kansas
Harrison Bensouda is an All-State midfielder from Mill Valley High School in Shawnee, Kan. He helped the Jaguars to a 15-1-1 record as a senior in the fall of 2021, earning honorable mention All-State honors from the coaches association and second team All-Sunflower League honors. Bensouda played club soccer with Fusion Academy, winning one state championship and finishing runner-up in three Kansas State Cups.  

Callum Frogson
Callum Frogson

Callum Frogson | Defender | Nottingham, England
Born and raised in Nottingham, England, Callum Frogson brings experience from a high standard of competition and also brings a winning culture to the team.

A defender, Frogson played for professional academies such as Nottingham Forest and Mansfield Town and more recently played for Basford United, who play in the Northern Premier League. During his time with Basford, Callum made history with the club by making it to the third round proper in the FA Youth Cup and facing Premier League team West Bromwich Albion. He also made his first team debut for the club at the age of 17.  

Nathaniel Isom
Nathaniel Isom

Nathaniel Isom | Forward | Dayton, Ohio
Nathaniel Isom is a forward from Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from Archbishop Alter High School while playing for Cincinnati Elite FC.

Isom boasts many accolades in his young career, including one club state championship, one state runner up, first team all-league and all-region honors. He finished as the top goal scorer in his high school league with 18 on the season in addition to finishing with the most points in the league.

Odhran Lawlor
Odhran Lawlor

Odhran Lawlor | Midfielder/Defender | Moate, Ireland
Odhran Lawlor was born and raised in Moate, Ireland and brings his expertise and versatility to the central midfield and right back positions.

He has played for clubs such as Temple Villa F.C, Belvedere F.C and finally Bohemians F.C of the League of Ireland Premier Division.

Lawlor boasts many achievements in his young career including being named Bohemians U15 player of the year, U17 League of Ireland winner in 2020, U17 League of Ireland runner-up in 2021 and also being named as the captain of the Bohemian U17 side.  

Jae Ho Shin
Jae Ho Shin

Jae Ho Shin | Forward | Seoul, South Korea
Jae Ho Shin brings a wealth of experience with him to Hays. The forward has played in Poland, Tanzania, Germany, Korea and India. His most recent stop was with MKS Piaseczno in Poland.

A native of Seoul, South Korea, Shin led his squad in assists as a junior and has played alongside many Tanzanian and Polish national team players. During his time in Germany, he was scouted to play for Bundesliga 2 side, FSV Frankfurt.  

David Silva
David Silva

David Silva | Defender | Portugal
David Silva is an incoming defender that hails from Portugal. His playing history includes stops at FC Cesarense, AD Sanjoanense and CD Feirense. He twice won the Aveiro Championship with AD Sanjoanense and was captain of that squad during their 2019-20 championship campaign.
