Two public hearings will be conducted this afternoon by the Hays Area Planning Commission for potential future development.

The first hearing will be a rezoning request from neighborhood conservation and commercial general to residential general and agriculture for the proposed “The Grove” development on a tract of land near 27th &amp; Canterbury.

The second public hearing is a rezoning request from agriculture to public and institutional and light industrial on WDG First Addition, a tract of land near 48th &amp; Hall St.

The planning commission will also consider approving the preliminary and final plats for&nbsp; both "The Grove" and WDG First Addition.

The meeting starts at 4 p.m. this afternoon in Hays City Hall, 1507 Main.
