Alex "Chip" Miller

Chip Miller passed away on September 6, 2023 in McAlester, Oklahoma at the age of 76.

Chip was born in Goodland, KS on October 1, 1946 to Alexander and Della Mae (Gotchall) Miller.   He graduated from Goodland High School in 1964.  He attended Vo-Tech and studied auto mechanics.  Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.   He was very proud of his corps and his country.  During his enlistment, he fought in the Vietnam War and received many honors, but it was the Purple Heart that he treasured the most.

After returning home to Goodland, he married Kathryn Ruth Jones.  To this union, two children were born, James (Jimmy) and Jodi.  Chip enjoyed fishing and hunting, watching Jimmy at wrestling tournaments, and cheering for his favorite football team, The Kansas City Chiefs!

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Kathy, his son Jimmy, his brothers Richard and Ronnie, sister Lavonna (Shorty), and granddaughter ShiAnne.

He is survived by his sister Darlene (Joe) Bauman of Goodland, KS, daughter Jodi (Kevin) Browne of McAlester, OK, granddaughters Keeley, Nikki, Chloe and Piper, grandsons Mario, AJ, Cole and Gage, 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 2:00 PM MT at the Goodland Cemetery, Goodland, KS.
