GREAT BEND - A solid day for the Hays High cross country teams at the Western Athletic Conference meet hosted by Great Bend at the Lake Barton Golf Course. The HHS girls finished second and the boys fifth.
Arely Maldonado set a new school record for the girls' 4K (15:22) and finished second. Elijah McCullough placed fifth (16:54) to lead the boys.
Both earned All-Western Athletic Conference.
The Indians next meet will be regionals also hosted by Great Bend.
