HAYS – Hoxie’s Ashton Dowell shot a 9-over-par 80 and won the Mid-Continent League golf title by one shot over Mason Gottschalk of Ellis Thursday at the Fort Hays Municipal Golf Course. Oakley’s Ian Fink placed third with an 82.
Hoxie place three in the top-10 and won the team title with a 341, 14 shots better than Hill City. Phillipsburg finished third with a 372, TMP-Marian was fourth with a 373 and Ellis fifth at 374.
The Railers Austin Carroll tied for seventh with an 88, one shot better than TMP-Marian’s Landon Rozean who tied for 10th with a 90. Pake Dewey tied for 13th with a 90.

Other results from TMP-Marian included a 97s from Jensen Brull and Heuer Brungardt, Harrison Lowe shot a 107 and Handrick Chen a 113.
The next action for TMP-Marian is at the Larned Regional Monday at the Larned Country Club. Phillipsburg is at the Colby Regional at the Meadow Lake Golf Course. Ellis, Hill City, Hoxie and Trego are all at the Elkhart Regional. Plainville and Smith Center will be in Salina.
