After four months in the position, Ellis County Administrator JD Cox has submitted his resignation, according to multiple sources.
Cox, who was appointed to the position in June of this year, submitted his resignation earlier this week.
The county commission is scheduled to take action on the resignation on Monday.
Cox was not available for comment Thursday and no longer has access to his county email address.
