KDHE: Just two area COVID clusters reported by state

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment reported just two COVID-19 cluster in the area as of Wednesday. 

KDHE on Wednesday reported 341 active COVID clusters in the state, accounting for 9,000 cases, 96 hospitalizations and 86 deaths. 

After two straight weeks of having the largest COVID cluster in the state, the Norton Correctional Facility was not listed on this week's cluster update.

Area clusters identified by KDHE were:

• Larned State Hospital, 6 cases
• Ascension Living Via Christi Village, Hays, 17 cases

A cluster is defined as a location that has five or more cases of COVID-19 with symptom onset in the last 14 days.
