After an unseasonably warm weekend, expect the mercury to dive Monday night.

The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a wind chill advisory for much of western Kansas, including Ellis County, beginning Monday night.

After an expected high of 59 Monday, blustery winds are expected to pick up Monday night, producing wind chills as low as 14 below zero. The low temperature is expected to drop to 4 degrees Monday night.

A high of just 18 degrees is predicted Tuesday, with wind chills as low as 19 below zero Tuesday night.

There is a 30 percent chance of snow Wednesday night, increasing to 60 percent Thursday, when the low temperature is expected to drop to 5 below zero.

The mercury isn't expected to rise above the freezing point until Saturday, the NWS said.
