John Lawrence Melton Jr., 68, passed away May 11, 2021, at his home in Great Bend. He was born March 12, 1953, at St. Louis, Mo., to John Lawrence Melton, Sr. & Pauline (Crabtree) Melton. He married Marcia Klingler March 1, 1980, at Great Bend.
John had partnered with his father for 30 years in the concrete business M & S Construction. He had also worked for Duke Drilling for 14 years. He loved to ride motorcycles, fishing, camping, and hunting.
Survivors include, his wife Marcia Melton of the home; his children, Kevin Melton, Amy Marvin, John P. Melton, and Michael Melton; his sister, Loretta Byington; his brothers, Ronnie Melton, Roger Johnson and Virgil Russom; and 5 grandchildren, Arianna Melton, Jeremiah Melton, Caidynn Melton, William Bowers, Breanna Bowers.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials have been designated to the John Melton Funeral Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
