TOPEKA — Gov. Laura Kelly this week announced $4,697,713 has been awarded to Kansas sexual and domestic violence programs through the 2021 American Rescue Plan Act administered by the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act.

Among the grant recipients is Options Domestic and Sexual Violence Services, based in Hays. The organization will receive just more than $147,000 in funding.

The funding will assist sexual assault support centers with transitioning to virtual/remote support services and increase their capacity to offer services to sexual assault survivors. The funds will also go toward measures to increase access to COVID-19 testing, vaccines, and mobile health units to promote public health.

“This funding will help sexual and domestic abuse survivors access the support and resources they need – no matter where they are in the state,” Kelly said. “We will continue using every tool we have to keep Kansans safe and healthy.”
