Lifelong Phillips County resident Jim Burton passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at the age of 77.

Jim was born on the homestead in Phillips County the son of Dale and Jacquetta (Lee) Burton.

He was united in marriage to Cindy Griffin on August 27, 1988, in Phillipsburg, KS.  She survives.

Other survivors include his daughters Lori Burton and Summer Burton of Wichita, Cassie Bohl and husband Corey of Minneapolis, KS, and Chelsea Bieghler and husband Brian of Stamford, NE; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Karan Godbout and Virginia Harrison; a granddaughter Rein Opal Bieghler; and a son Chad Burton.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2022, at the United Methodist Church in Phillipsburg with Pastor Lew Van Der Wege officiating.  The services will be streamed live on the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel Facebook page.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Phillipsburg.

Mr. Burton will lie in state from noon until 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel.  The family will receive friend Sunday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
