SCOTT CITY – The Hays High boys tennis team had two second and two third place finishes at the Scott City Invitational Thursday. The Indians finished in second place in the team standings with 28 points, eight behind first place Scott City.
Colin Clark finished second at No. 1 Singles as did the No. 1 Doubles team of Henry Fitzthum and Kaiden Bunger. Xavier Catura finished third in No. 2 Singles and the No. 2 Doubles team of Ken Shaffer and Kale Schwien also finished in second place.
All four went 2-0 in pool play. Clark lost in the finals 8-1 to Scott City’s Houston Frank. Fitzthum and Bunger lost 8-0 in the finals to Avery Noll and Sage Stoecklien of Scott City.
Catura lost 8-5 in the finals to Scott City’s Ayden Presson and Shaffer and Schwien lost 8-3 in their last match to Scott City’s Dante Franco and Dylan Duff.
