🏃‍♀️ Monarch girls' qualify for 2A state

MEADE – The TMP-Marian girls’ cross country team qualified for the 2A state meet after a second place finish at the Meade 2A Regional Saturday at the Meade Golf Course. The Monarchs scored 57 points and finished 13 behind first place Oakley.

Junior Ella Bain led the Monarchs with a 12th place finish (23:31.28), Allison Weber finished 19th (24:22.51), Arianna Ayarza 21st (24:47.81), Grace Schmeider 24th (25:02.51), Gracyn Schippers 25th (25:12.44), Claire Schippers 26th (25:21.98) and Rachel Staab 27 yh (5:31.84).

Smith Center freshman Madison Howland won the girls’ race with a time of 18:58.26. Ellis sophomore Avery Boydson finished second (19:37.24).

The TMP-Marian boys finished in fifth place. They were led by Cayden Becker who finished in 14th place (18:33.23).

The 2A state meet will take place Saturday (October 28) in Wamego.
