Andrew (Andy) Greene, age 67, of Hays, Kansas passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Hays Medical Center. He was born December 18, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Norman E. and Edoline Jane (Martin) Greene. Andy married Maxine Marie (Cole) on May 14, 1983 in Lincoln, Kansas. She preceded him in death on November 25, 2023.
Andy was raised in Kansas City. He attended Kansas State University where he met his future bride Maxine, and Fort Hays State University where he earned his bachelor's degree in finance. Andy and Maxine owned and operated Greene’s Autobody and Upholstery Greene’s Upholstery, serving central Kansas for over 45 years.
Andy was a collector, a gardener and music lover (favorites were Leonard Cohen and Prince). He also loved his dogs “Walker and Noah” very much. Andy was happy go lucky, a master fabricator and always had a joke ready to make you roll your eyes.
Andy's immediate family is his daughter, Marci Greene; his sister, Teresa Pavelonis; his brother, David Greene; his nieces and nephews, Madeline Greene; Anna Lawrence; Audrey Buccieri; Elle Coronel; and Hunter Harris.
He was also survived by many of Maxine's family members, great nieces and great nephews including, Anessa Jenkins; Oliver Lawrence; Rhodes Coronel and Charley Coronel.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Edoline and Norman Greene; and his wife, Maxine.
There will be a private family inurnment, and a Celebration of Life gathering information will be provided at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial made payable to: High Plains Mental Health in care of Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
