Richard O. Fries, 80, died Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Via Christi Village, Hays, Kansas. He was born in Ellis, Kansas to Richard and Anna Fries.
As lifetime resident of western Kansas, he spent a large portion of his life working in the food service industry.
He is survived by a daughter, Stacy Lane (Troy) of Knoxville, TN., a son Michael Fries of Minneapolis, KS. Richard was preceded in death by his father Richard Fries, mother Anna Fries (Hoffman), and sister Rita Slama.
