HAYS, Kan. - The Fort Hays State volleyball team dropped a three-set match against No. 13 Northwest Missouri State on Saturday (Oct. 2), 18-25, 16-25, 9-25. The Tigers are now 8-7 on the year and 2-4 in MIAA play, while the Bearcats move to 11-2 overall and 4-1 in league action.
The Tigers totaled 22 kills and posted a .112 attack percentage for the match, while Northwest tallied an efficient .392 swing rate with 51 kills. Riley Tinder and Isabelle Reynolds both recorded five kills to lead the Tigers, with Tinder also leading the team with 11 digs and one service ace. Claire Olson and Emily Ellis added four kills apiece, while Morgan Christiansen totaled a team-high two blocks.
Jaden Ferguson paced the Bearcats with 13 kills on 19 swings, while Payton Kirchhoefer recorded 11 kills and three blocks.
Fort Hays State wraps up a three-match home swing Tuesday when the Tigers host rivals Nebraska-Kearney. First serve against the 10th-ranked Lopers is slated for 6 p.m.
