Eastbound I-70 has reopened between Exits 157 and 161 near Hays. The incident has been cleared and pavement repairs completed.
Just before 3 p.m. the Kansas Highway Patrol reported a crash was causing delays on I-70 near Hays.
"We are working a crash at milepost 161 eastbound involving an oversized load that struck the Hays 27th St. bridge," according to KHP Trooper Tod Hileman.
Traffic was being rerouted to the 183 bypass at milepost 157 to avoid the accident and back to I-70 at Commerce Prkwy.
"I do not know how long this delay will last," Hileman said.
