⚾ Larks win fourth straight, blow out Roughriders

HAYS – Kaiden Ashton and Kaleb Duncan both had three hits, Duncan drove in four runs and the Hays Larks extended their winning streak to four games with a 12-2 win over the Colorado Roughriders Sunday evening at Larks Park.

Houston Russell and Taber Stokes both drove in three runs as the Larks improved to 8-2 and 5-1 in the Rocky Mountain Baseball League with the seven inning, run-rule victory.

After the Cougars grabbed the early lead with two runs in the top of the first, the Larks scored single runs in the bottom of the first and second to tie the game then took the lead for good with a three-run third. Stokes drove in two of the runs with a two-out double.

The Larks added four runs in the fourth to blow the game open. Ashton had an RBI single and Russell and two-run double.

Nolan Wilson (2-0) allowed three hits with six strikeouts and no walks over four innings and was credited with the win. Keevyn Goss and Luke ter Beek combined for three scoreless innings of relief.

DOUBLE DIGITS

The Larks have scored 10 0r more runs in five of their last six wins.
