A couple of spring thunderstorms rumbled through Hays Tuesday night into early morning Wednesday.

The official rainfall amount measured at the K-State Agricultural Center was just shy of a half-inch at 0.49 inches.

That brings the total amount of rain so far in May to&nbsp;1.83 inches. The average for all of May is 3.34 inches.

So far this year, Hays has received 5.60 inches of moisture. The 154-cumulative average is&nbsp;7.92 inches by the end of May, leaving a shortage of two and a third inches.&nbsp;
