Dennis D. Hupfer

Dennis D. Hupfer, of Shawnee, KS, formerly from Russell, KS passed away on Monday, January 4th, 2020, at Advent Hospital with his family by his bed side.

Dennis was born May 6, 1945, to Clarence J. Hupfer and Mildred Stumpff. He graduated from Russell High School and Fort Hays University. His love for the Oil and Gas exploration took him to the Middle East where he worked as a Driller for Santa Fe Drilling. He returned to Kansas in 1971 to marry the love of his life, Marsha Pfannenstiel and to continue his career with Santa Fe Drilling as a personnel manager. He worked in Texas and California. In 1980 he returned to Kansas to start his own Oil and Gas Company which he continued to operate until his death.

Dennis was passionate about his love for God, Country and family. He loved fishing, hunting and playing pinochle with friends and family, but he mostly loved being with his family. He was a great family man always making sure everyone had everything they needed. He was so proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed going to their baseball games.

Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Clayton and sisters, Aleta Katt, Delene Gilmore and baby sister, Beverly.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marsha, daughter, Laura Bean, (Randy Bean), daughter, Rachel Hupfer, grandchildren, Abby and Braydon Bean, brother, John Hupfer and sister- in- law, Dixie Hupfer and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this year for family and friends to attend.
