⚾ Monarchs swept at Sacred Heart

SALINA - The offensive woes continued for the TMP-Marian baseball team Monday. The Monarchs scored only one run and were swept 2-1 and 2-0 at Sacred Heart. TMP has lost five straight and has scored only three runs in the the five games as they fall to 7-7 on the season.

Game 1: Sacred Heart 2, TMP-Marian 1
The Knights score the winning run after three straight walks and an error in the bottom of the seventh.

The Monarchs scored their lone run in the top of the fifth following an error.

Jace Wentling and Drew Werth both had two TMP’s eight hits.

Mark Rack allowed two runs, none earned on two hits over 3 1/3 innings of relief and takes the loss.

Game 2: Sacred Heart 2, TMP-Marian 0
The Monarchs had base runners in every inning but failed to score. Sacred Heart got both of their runs in the fourth.

Jace Wentling has three of TMP’s five hits. He went the distance on the mound allowing two runs on three hits with seven strikeouts and two walks.
