Raquel Soto Guerra, age 89 years of Great Bend, Kansas passed away on Monday evening, July 1, 2024 at her home in Great Bend. Raquel was born on March 2, 1935 at San Francisco, Nieves, Mexico to Hermilindo and Cristina (Lomas) Soto. She was united in marriage to Castulo Guerra Gallardo on June 9, 1954 at Nieves, Zacatecas, Mexico. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her large family. Raquel was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at Prince of Peace Parish in Great Bend.
Survivors include six sons: Robert (& Barbara) Guerra, Jesus (& Amparo) Guerra, Reinaldo (& Maria) Guerra, Lazaro (& Yolanda) Guerra, and Fernando (& Maria Zamora) Guerra, all of Great Bend, Kansas and Ciro (& Primitiva) Guerra of Wichita, Kansas; one daughter, Irasema Guerra (& Gustavo Garay) of Great Bend, Kansas; twenty grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Raquel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on December 4, 2021; three brothers and one sister.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 8, 2024 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend, Kansas with Father Aneesh Parappanattu officiating. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery North at Great Bend, Kansas. Visitation will be at Charter Funerals in Great Bend from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 7, 2024 with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. The family suggests memorial donations be made in care of the family for later designation.
