
Mary Jane Seems, 91, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, in Smith Center, KS.
Mary Jane was born May 27, 1930, in Lebanon, KS, the daughter of Oren
Marshall and Rachel Mary (Cherrington) Smith. Mary Jane was united in
marriage to Lynn "Duke" Seems on February 2, 1949, to this union they
were blessed with four children, Linda, Jerry, Teresa and Judy.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Smith Center, and a
past member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Altar Society.
She
leaves to mourn her passing, three daughters, Linda Mans & husband
Dave of Red Cloud, NE, Teresa Pruden & husband Richard of Smith
Center, Judy Seems of Canton; a sister-in-law, Janet Seems of Smith
Center; eleven grandchildren, Amiee Hoard, Chad (Tammi) Mans, Adam
(Jackie) Mans, Sandy Swinehart, Soni Henson, Jeremy Seems, Rick (Joanna)
Pruden, Robert (Sara) Pruden, Tracy (Sarah) Pruden, Tabatha (Tim)
Deines, Gabe Griffith, twenty-six great grandchildren, Austin &
Casey Shipman & Noah Hoard, Josi, Jami & Jerik Mans, Thatcher
Mans, Josh & Cameron Houle, Maddie & Ellie Henson, Carliee
Seems, Ben, Maddie, Lily, Avery, Isabel & Gabe Pruden, Emily, Ellie
& Abby Pruden, Ava, Elliott, and Elanor Pruden, Jordan Wilson &
Katie Deines, three great-great grandchildren, Rylan, Raidan and Renton
and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Duke, son Jerry and daughter-in-law Evelyn, parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January
11, 2022 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 403 W. Highway 36, Smith Center,
KS, with Father Soosaimari Rathinam - Celebrant. Visitation will be
held Monday, January 10, 2022, 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a rosary
starting at 7:00 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Chapel, 113 S. Madison St.,
Smith Center, KS. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Smith
Center, KS. Memorials may be given to Smith Center Fire Department and
can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.
