Posted Mar 05, 2021 6:52 PM

David “Oliver” Donald Sayers, 70, of Norton, KS passed away March 2, 2021, at the Norton County Hospital in Norton. He was born on December 26, 1950, in Wellington, KS to Ollie David and Elsie (Harrison) Sayers.

Oliver resided in a DSNWK group home in Norton for over 30 years and was adored by staff. He is described as being a “lovable pistol.” Oliver enjoyed going to the Library and reading books, coloring, car rides, drinking coffee or coke, eating popcorn and cookies, and praying to Jesus. Most of all, he loved conversations and one-on-one attention with friends and staff. Oliver also loved listening to Old Time Rock n’ Roll but his latest favorite song was “Karma Chameleon” by Culture Club. He liked watching old TV shows, Andy Griffith Show, Golden Girls, Bonanza, and Gun Smoke and so much more! His absence is sorely felt, and he will be missed for years to come, but we are thankful for the restored body and skills he now enjoys in heaven.

Memorial Service will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Frontier Center, 1104 N State, Norton, KS. Inurnment will follow at the Norton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oliver Sayers Memorial Fund. Condolences may be left at www.enfieldfh.com. Arrangements by: Plumer-Gobber Funeral Home (formerly Enfield Funeral Home), Norton.
