
Fred Michael Cersovsky, 64, of Colby, passed away at Prairie Senior Living Complex, Colby, KS, on Monday, November 1, 2021.
Fred was born March 10, 1957, in Colby, KS, to Lloyd Sr. and Eva
(Renner) Cersovsky. Fred was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Colby. He graduated from Beamgard Learning Center, in
Atwood, KS, in May of 1977, where he learned life skills allowing him to
work in janitorial services at Lantern Park Manor for approximately 8
years. He also helped his parents with household duties, helped his dad
at the farm, and ushered at church.
Fred participated in the First International Winter Special Olympics, in
Steamboat Springs, CO, in February of 1977. He played in a benefit
basketball game against the Kansas City Chiefs and Buck Buchanan lifted
him up to make a dunk. Some of his favorite things were bowling, maple
long johns at the donut shop, and afternoon rides with his dad, which
included stops for a Dr. Pepper.
Fred moved to Fairview Estates with his mother in 2011 and, following
his mother’s death, he continued to live there until June 2021. He set
the dining tables for meals during most of those years. Fred moved to
Prairie Senior Living Complex in July 2021 and remained there until his
death.
Preceding him in death were his father and mother and his brother John.
He is survived by his sister, Barbara (Richard) Williams, North Little
Rock, AR; brothers, Ed (Sheryl), Lloyd Jr. (Cindy) and Mark, all of
Colby; sister-in-law, Mary Sue Cersovsky, of Jackson, MS and many nieces
and nephews.
Visitation is from 6-7:00 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2021, at Baalmann
Mortuary, Colby, with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00
a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Colby, with burial in the church cemetery.
