⛳ Tiger women place fourth at Hillcat Classic

OWASSO, Okla. – Fort Hays State Women's Golf turned in a fourth-place finish at the Hillcat Classic, hosted by Rogers State University at Bailey Ranch Golf Club. Morgan Brasser notched a top-10 finish in fourth individually, while Kira Mestl was one stroke outside of the top 10 in a tie for 11th.

After being five strokes off the leading score following a first-round 80, Brasser moved up one spot on the leaderboard to fourth overall with a 2-over par 74 in the second round for a total of 154. She had seven birdies over the two rounds and added an eagle on a par five on day two. Mestl improved on a first-round 82 by shooting 80 on day two for a 162 total, moving up one spot in the standings into a tie for 11th. She had four birdies over the two rounds.

Kerrigan Rudolph turned in an eight-stroke improvement on Tuesday with an 80 after a first-round 88. She moved up 11 positions in the standings to 25th overall at 168. Shauna Lee figured fourth in the team scoring for the Tigers each day with rounds of 90 and 84 to finish at 174 and a tie for 38th. Rudolph had three birdies over the two rounds, while Lee carded two birdies and an eagle. Lexie Ridder (96-87, 183) and Ella McKee (104-94, 198) also competed for the Tigers, but did not figure into the team scoring either round.

Raquel Flores and Marelda Ayal of Rogers State, along with Allycia Gan of Missouri Western all tied for first at 8-over par, just two strokes ahead of Brasser. Host school Rogers State won the tournament as a team with a total of 626. Missouri Western was second at 639 and Arkansas-Monticello placed third with 646. The Tigers posted team scores of 340 and 318 for a total of 658.
