Ellis County, along with all of western Kansas is under a high wind warning today from noon until midnight.
The National Weather Service in Dodge City is forecasting northwest wind of 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph and patchy blowing dust. Dangerous and rapid visibility changes can occur around open agricultural fields.
Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines.
The chance of rain mixed with snow is 70 percent into tonight with snow accumulation of less than one-half inch.
Monday's high temperature should reach into the upper 40s by 11 a.m. and then begin to fall into the 30s.
The three-day weather forecast calls for warming daytime highs.
