Thelma M. Pfannenstiel, age 83 of Denver, Colorado, died Friday, August 27, 2021, at the Crossroads Senior Living Center in Northglenn, CO.

She was born September 13, 1937, in Schoenchen, Kansas, to Albert and Martina (Ruder) Zimmerman. She married Cyril Pfannenstiel on November 12, 1955.

Along with her husband, Thelma was co-owner/operator of the Adams City A&W and she also owned her own catering business. She later worked at Regis College in Denver managing the priest’s kitchen, and she retired from Hunter Douglas in Broomfield, CO. She was an active member and volunteer at the Thornton Senior Center for several years.

Survivors include her daughter Lisa Kay Pfannenstiel and husband Paul Hamilton of Austin, TX; two sons, Barry Pfannenstiel and wife, Mary Lou of Wisconsin Dells, WI; Bruce Pfannenstiel and wife, Dawn of Pleasant Garden, NC; two grandsons Derek Pfannenstiel of Wisconsin Dells, WI; Clayton Pfannenstiel and wife Dana Montalto of Boston, MA; one granddaughter Ashley (Pfannenstiel) Kern and husband Dan Kern of Star, NC; two great grandsons and two great granddaughters; brothers Ernest Zimmerman and wife, Marlene of Payson, AZ; Tim Zimmerman and wife Lora of Maricopa, AZ; Chuck Zimmerman and wife Tammy of Wichita, KS; sisters Elaine Pfannenstiel and husband Verlin Pfannenstiel of Munjor, KS; Julie Gottschalk and husband Tim Gottschalk of Belleville, KS; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cyril Pfannenstiel; her son Brian Pfannenstiel; her parents Albert and Martina (Ruder) Zimmerman; stepmother Felicitas (Giebler) Zimmerman, and brother Harvey Zimmerman.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to the American Cancer Society.
