The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Wednesday reported 31 new COVID-19 cases had been identified in Ellis County from Dec. 3 and 9.

Nearly all of northwest Kansas, including Ellis County, is in the high-incidence category, the KDHE reported. (See map below). Only Rooks and Cheyenne counties were in the moderate-incidence category.

Since reporting began, there have been 8,234 cases of COVID-19 identified in Ellis County.
