Recommendations of bid awards for the 2025 street maintenance program will be presented to Hays city commissioners during their work session on Thursday afternoon.
The projects include seal coat, polypatch, curb and brick repair, major rehab (street and concrete alley), asphalt mill and overlay, and pavement markings. The biggest project for this year is mill and overlay of East 17th Street
Bids were received from six contractors. Jesse Rohr, public works director, recommended the low bidders for all projects for a total of $893,835.
No bid for the pavement marking project was received. Rohr will advertise it again and bring it back for city commission approval at a later date.
