Hays Fire Department
At 11:58 am Hays Fire Department was dispatched to 1002 Eighth Eighth St., Horseshoe Bar and Grill, for a reported fire in the kitchen.
Upon arrival crews were quickly able to extinguish the fire and remained on scene to ventilate and search for extension. No injuries were reported, and all occupants evacuated the business safely.
The fire was investigated and ruled accidental.
"We would also like to remind everyone to have working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms," the Hays Fire Department said in a press release.

Hays Post
Hays firefighters were called to the Horseshoe Bar and Grill, 1000 E. Eighth St., Hays, for a kitchen fire this morning, said Shane Preston, Hays deputy fire chief.
According to the Horseshoe's Facebook page, no one was injured in the fire. The kitchen is closed, but the post said it should be opening again soon.
