William Theobald Wierman, age 85 of Hays, Kansas died Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Via Christi Village - Hays. He was born October 20, 1939 in McCracken, KS to William H. Wierman and Alvina G. (Bieker) Wierman. He graduated from St. Joseph’s Military Academy in 1958. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. During the course of his enlistment, he was stationed in Alaska and then finished his military service in the army reserves. He was united in marriage to Agnes Marie Schmidt on July 24, 1965 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hays, KS.

Upon his discharge from the Army, he began work for Bieker Construction. He eventually started his own construction and remodeling business. His emphasis was on cabinets and finish carpentry. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 173. He was also a Director for the Prairie Acres Improvement District for 39 years.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Wierman of Hays, KS; daughters, Anne Schulte (Matthew) of Hays, KS and Amy Wierman of Lawrence, KS; a son, William G. Wierman (Tammy) of Hays, KS; grandchildren, Jenna Schulte (Rohn), Michael Schulte (Andreina), Emily Schulte, and Travis Wierman; great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Cora Brantley, Emma and Olivia Schulte and sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Stevenson and Clarice (Joe) Chism.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. & Alvina Wierman; father and mother-in-law Lucius & Alfreda Schmidt; siblings, William H. Wierman, Terry Wierman, Donald Wierman, and Sheila Sander; an infant son, Michael Wierman and a brother-in-law, Harry Stevenson.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Keithley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Brock's Chapel, 2509 Vine Street Hays, Kansas 67601. Memorial visitation will be from 10:00 AM to service time at the Funeral Chapel.

Inurnment with Military Honors courtesy of the Hays VFW Honor Guard, will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery - Hays.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph's Food Pantry - Hays in care of the Funeral Chapel.
