FHSU Athletics
The Fort Hays State wrestling team will host the annual Bob Smith Open tournament inside Gross Memorial Coliseum on Sunday. Action is slated to begin at 9 a.m. with approximately 250 wrestlers from 19 schools competing on six mats. Fort Hays State is projected to suit up 23 wrestlers for the event.
Tickets for the Bob Smith Open are $10 per adult and $5 for youth. Live results will also be available via TrackWrestling as well as live video available on Flowrestling via a paid subscription.
Tereus Henry remains ranked No. 4 in Division II at 197 pounds as the lone individual ranked for the Tigers. Henry owns the sole individual championship for the Tigers which he claimed at the Younes Hospitality Open. Cade Lindsey currently leads the team in wins, posting a 12-3 record, and in wins by decision with seven. Henry has posted an 11-1 record so far this season while going 3-0 against ranked opponents. He also leads the team in wins by major decision with four. FHSU has brought home 10 placers from three open tournaments so far this season.
