Shirley Faye Mort passed away early Sunday morning, April 4, 2021, at the
Graham County Hospital, Hill City with her family by her side.
Shirley was born along with her twin sister, Sharon, January 9, 1947, to Audry Emmett and Nina Alice (Bethel) Elliott in Hays. She grew up in
Bogue, and graduated from the Bogue High School in 1965. On December
23, 1965, Shirley married Monte M. Mort.
In 1975, Monte and Shirley moved to the Mt. Shasta area of Northern
California where she resided until May 2017, when she moved back to Hill
City to be closer to her family.
Shirley is survived by son: Troy (Elizabeth) Mort of Hill City;
daughters: Tia (Kelly) Nichols of Redding, California and Tana (Kenny
Bonner) of Redding, California; siblings: Sharon (Sherman) Jones of
Bogue, Shelby (Connie) Elliott of Spring Hill, Missouri, “Red” (Lorna)
Elliott of Hill City, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Monte, and infant daughter Paula Dee.
Per Shirley’s request no services will be held.
