TREGO COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just before 2p.m. Thursday in Trego County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2023 Freightliner semi driven by Andy Montoya, 52, Log Lane Village, Colorado, was eastbound on Interstate 70 seven miles west of WaKeeney. A large gust of wind pushed the vehicle and trailer into the median where it fell onto the driver's side.
EMS transported Montoya and a passenger in the sleeper 57-year-old Michael Blender of Johnstown, Colorado, to Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital. Montoya was properly restrained, according to the KHP.
