
Ronald Eugene Neff, 82, passed away on November 27, 2021, at the Sheridan
County Long Term Care Health Complex. He was born November 11, 1939, to
F. H. Neff and wife Margaret.
Ron attended Selden Grade and High Schools, where he played
basketball with the team and almost went to state. Ron attended one year
of college at K-State and three years in Creighton in Omaha, where he
graduated with a Business Degree. Ron joined the Kansas National Guard
and served for six years.
On September 11, 1961, Ron married Lois Tesmer of Sharon Springs, KS
and were happily married for 60 years. To this union five children were
born: Monica, Doug, David, Darin, and DaLaena. Ron was a farmer, a
Pioneer Salesman for 53 years and got his Broker’s License and sold land
for 52 years. He enjoyed visiting with anyone and everyone, he was
definitely a people person. Ron was a member of the Lion’s Club for 45
years and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Selden, where he served on the
Parish Council when he was younger. He never missed a Mass on Sunday if
he could help it, even on family fishing trips he would take them to
the nearest town for Mass.
Ron loved his family and grandchildren, taking the older ones
fishing and showed them how to bait their hooks, etc. He was a wonderful
Grandpa.
Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Lois Meitl and
granddaughter, Leah. He is survived by his wife, Lois of Selden, KS;
brother, Don Neff and wife, Gerry; two daughters, Monica of Shawnee, KS
and DaLaena Karlin of Gardner, KS; three sons, Doug of Shelbyville, TN,
Dave of Selden, KS and Darin of Hebron, NE; grandchildren: Shawn, Josh,
Nate, Xavier, Phoenix, Bradley, Ben, and Emily.
