LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Hannah Green of Fort Hays State Softball was one of 15 players from the NCAA Central Region named to the NFCA D2 Player/Pitcher of the Year Watchlist for the 2026 season, announced on Wednesday (Apr. 1). Green is one of 10 position players from the Central Region on the list, while the other five are pitchers. A total of 118 student-athletes from Division II were named to the list.
After sitting out the 2025 season with injury, Green has made a big impact for the Tigers in 2026 after transferring from Florida Atlantic University prior to the 2024-25 academic year. The Kansas City native leads the Tigers so far this season with a .433 batting average, 55 hits, and 35 runs scored, while adding 9 extra-base hits, 11 RBIs, and 22 stolen bases as the Tigers' leadoff hitter. She has a .463 on-base percentage through 35 games this season. She has served as a table setter for several Tigers following her in the lineup, who are in the midst of having their most productive offensive seasons so far at FHSU.
