La Crosse woman appointed to state childhood development board

TOPEKA – Governor Laura Kelly announced recently appointments to Kansas state boards and commissions.

Appointment is subject to Senate confirmation*

Governor’s Tax Reform Council

The Governor directed the Council to conduct a bipartisan, in-depth study of the state’s tax system, and to make specific recommendations to state lawmakers regarding tax reform.

Juvenile Justice Oversight Committee

The purpose of the Committee is to oversee the implementation of reform measures intended to improve the state's juvenile justice system.

Kansas Lottery Commission*

The purpose of the Commission is to police the lottery in the state of Kansas. The commission shall consult with and advise the executive director relating to the operation of the state lottery, shall assist the director in the establishment of policies and shall review and approve the proposed annual budget for the Kansas lottery prepared by the executive director.

State Interagency Coordinating Council for Early Childhood Developmental Services*

The purpose of the Council is to solicit information and opinions from concerned agencies, groups and individuals on proposed policies and recommendations for the delivery of health, education, and social services for young children from birth through age five with or at risk for disabling conditions and for their families.
