
Mark Alan Jarvis passed away on October 27, 2020 at the Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, KS, at the age of 70.
He was born on August
3, 1950 in Lamar, MO to Olan and Marie Jarvis. Mark attended the Lamar
School District and graduated with the Class of 1968. After graduating,
Mark joined the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. After
being honorably discharged from the military, Mark began his career as a
Corrections Officer and worked for the Stockton Correctional Facility
for 30 years.
Upon Mark’s retirement from the correctional facility, he stayed
busy with contract freight hauling, appliance repairs, and installing
Dish TV. Mark was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #8873 in Stockton
and was also a lifetime member of the NRA.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Shelley Dempsey and
husband Erin of Blue Springs, MO; sister, Connie Moore of Joplin, MO;
and three grandchildren as well as some nieces and nephews.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Olan and Marie; brother, Ernest Jarvis; and sister, Mary Hurrell.
Private family services will be held at a later date in Lamar, MO.
