Easter Sunday rain in Hays is first moisture of the month

The first moisture in April for Hays came in the late afternoon of Easter Sunday.

The official amount measured at the K-State Agricultural Center was 0.50 - an even half-inch. 

Hays has received just 2.45 inches of moisture so far this year. 

The western two-thirds of Kansas remains in a drought, according to the U.S Drought Monitor. Conditions in Ellis County range from severe to extreme drought.
