The first moisture in April for Hays came in the late afternoon of Easter Sunday.

The official amount measured at the K-State Agricultural Center was 0.50 - an even half-inch.&nbsp;

Hays has received just 2.45 inches of moisture so far this year.&nbsp;

The western two-thirds of Kansas remains in a drought, according to the U.S Drought Monitor. Conditions in Ellis County range from severe to extreme drought.
