SALINA - The Hays High boys and girls each finished second as a team on Friday in Salina. Manhattan won both of the team titles.
The Hays High girls 4x100 team finished second and set a school record with a time of 49.24. Moriah Hallam, Lyndi Zimmerman, Lynsi Kanak and Kamryn McCall are members of the team. They finished behind Manhattan who ran the fastest 4x100 in state history at 46.84.
Zimmerman and McCall were third and sixth in the 100 meters. McCall finished fourth in the 200 meters. Zimmerman won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.20.
Aralen Maupin finished third in the 400 meters. Cara Cunningham was fourth in the 300 meter hurdles and Zimmerman finished fifth.
The Indians also finished second in the 4x400 relay.
Katie Linenberger jumped 5'-2" for a second place finish in high jump. Caleah Sanders was fifth at an even five feet.
McCall (17-5) and Kanak (17-5) were second and third in long jump. Rylen Harrington placed third and Brooke Bieker sixth in javelin. Zoe Winter was runner up in shot put.
Sanders, Bieker and Schmidt placed third, fourth, and sixth in the triple jump.
Taevian Maupin-Dabney placed fourth in the 400 and was followed up by Chase Zadina in sixth.
Bryce Steffan added points with a second place finish in the 300 meter hurdles and fourth in the 110 meter hurdles.
The 4x400 meter relay was runner up.
Kamani Jones won the long jump (21-7.5) and was runner up in the high jump.
Andre Pfeifer was sixth in the triple jump. Parker McGuire and Gus Corsair went second and fifth in the discus. Dalton Meyers and Wyatt Kirkpatrick were second and third in javelin.
Jaxon Chartier won the shot put at 50'1" and Caleb Englert was third.
